Wolfram Introduces “Groundbreaking” Version of Mathematica 6

The application offers what the company has called “Instant interactivity”, this means that it can take models, simulations or any other concept and transform it into fully interactive applications.

In an open letter Stephen Wolfram, founder and director of the company, says: “We thought that Mathematica 6 would prove much more important than even the first version of Mathematica 1.0 that was released about 20 years ago. Over 1,000 examples of these interaction capabilities have been posted on The Wolfram Demonstrations Project site (http://demonstrations.wolfram.com)

Mathematica 6 is available with Mac OS X, Windows NT / 2000 / XP / Vista, Linux x86 / Itanium, Solaris UltraSPARC / x86, HP-UX, IBM AIX, and compatible systems. In its version for Mac Mathematica 6 is priced at $ 2,500.
