US FTC Says Google and Apple Removed …

How by CNBC, the three apps, Meet24, FastMeet and Meet4U, all operated by the Ukrainian company called Wildec LLC, violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The FTC published a report which said that all these apps collected the date of birth, email address, photos and location data of users.

The FTC report also said that several people tried to contact the children through the app and Wildec was aware of this. These people are currently facing legal proceedings.

On May 1, the FTC wrote a list of demands for Wildec that included “immediately deleting children’s personal information on its service, seeking parental consent before allowing minors access to its products, and removing any feature that allows users to specifically search for other users who are minors. “
