Fusion 10.b4.1 re-enables support for USB devices for users who own MacBook Pro computers based on the Santa Rosa chipset (latest generation) or those who have upgraded to Mac OS X 10.4.10. According to VMware, Apple has updated the USB Manager on the latest MacBook Pros as well as the latest operating system update.
VMware has also expanded support for developers who received the latest beta version of Mac OS X Leopard during the last developer conference held last week. According to the developer, Fusion will install and run correctly on said operating system.
Fusion beta 4 was released earlier this month, incorporating a number of significant improvements over the previous version of the product, such as the “Unity” feature that allows users to run Windows XP applications from the Mac OS X desktop (similar to to the Parallels “Coherence” feature). In Fusion, a Launch Palette allows access to Windows applications, and also allows you to save Windows favorites to the Mac OS X Dock.
VMware Fusion 1.0b4.1 is available as a free download from the developer’s website.
