The software works on Mac OS X but allows developers to deploy their products on multiple platforms, including Mac OS X, Windows, and the web. It includes a built-in editor, material import, light and shadow support, graphics optimized for both OpenGL and DirectX, terrain modeling, shaders, scripting support, network support, physics features, audio and video support, and management of contents.
Support for Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” is included in version 2.0.1, along with updated documentation for both existing features and those introduced with Unity version 2.0, as directed by the developers.
Unity 2.0 is available as an evaluation version. It is priced at $ 199 for the “Indie” license and $ 1,499 for the “Pro” license, which includes Asset Server. Upgrades from version 1.0 have a starting price of $ 99.
