It looks like the separate Facebook app for messaging your Facebook friends, called Messenger, will revert to the main Facebook app. Or at least some of its main features are.
According to report by The edge, Application researcher Jane manchun wong saw a feature currently in testing that integrates Messenger with the native Facebook app in a new “Chats” section.
This chats section will be available after clicking the regular Messenger icon in the Facebook app, but instead of taking you to a new one, it will open a new window in the Facebook app.
Wong, however, points out that his Chats section only has a limited selection of Messenger features. It does not support calling, sending photos or sending message reactions.
The main Messenger app will continue to exist, as Wong predicts that this app will target a different type of audience.
Screenshots posted by Wong show an apparent white color change in the Facebook app interface. It is not known when this update to the Facebook application will reach the general public.
