Google’s first Android Q beta update is likely to bring a system-wide dark theme, even though the tech giant hasn’t revealed it.

The dark theme can be applied to the latest version of the Google Drive app (version 2.19.112) if one has Android Q’s dark mode enabled, according to a report by XDA Developers.

The update will allow the user to enable the dark theme by activating the battery saving mode or accessing a hidden preference through ADB.

It was included in the notice by renowned XDA developer Kieron Quinn.

Information from Google Drive will be joined by Google Chrome, Google Phone, Google Contacts, Messages, Google News, Google Play Games, YouTube, and more Google apps with built-in dark modes, according to the report.

When turned on, the dark theme can darken the screen, while turning the text to white. Other Google apps that have a built-in dark mode include YouTube, Google Maps, Google Chrome, Google Contacts, Messages, Google News, among others.
