The show, spread over 14,000m2 of net exposure, will be divided into various sections such as consumer photography, professional photography, lighting systems and studio equipment, digital printing, computer equipment, etc. According to the organization of the fair, 40% of the companies attend Sonimagfoto for the first time, coming from fields such as consumer electronics, computer science or graphic arts.
In addition to an exhibition, Sonimagfoto also seeks to be an open school for image professionals and amateurs to expand and update knowledge. Renowned photographers will give 16 master classes at the Sonimagfoto Set, coordinated this year by the Casanova Group, which will bring the professionals’ working techniques closer to the public.
In parallel, the Adobe Digital Classroom proposes 26 sessions on treatment and post-production of digital images. New computer-generated imaging technologies will be presented, as well as lighting, color and effects applications for image creation and the possibilities of new software versions.
With more than 20 exhibitions, Sonimagfoto seeks to become one of the best photographic galleries in the country. Among them, the four unpublished exhibitions in Spain that the Visual Art Gallery space, sponsored by Casio, stand out: “La Transición 1976-1981”, by the Argentine photojournalist Carlos Bosch; “Look at the world”, by various authors for Reuters; “Uzbekistan. Torre de Silencio ”, by Aitor Lara; and the multidisciplinary project “Confitura de moniato”, curated by Carles Poy, with works by Miralda, Pep Durán, Nelson Garrido and Ernesto Salmerón.
Conferences and workshops
In this regard, the fair will host the celebration of the FEPFI Annual Congress; the Congress of the Fotocat Group, an entity that represents social photographers from the four Catalan provinces; the Conference of the Association of Professional Photographers (AFP) dedicated to recruitment and the First Conference of Specialized Distribution, organized by the Electro Imagen magazine, the graphispag_digital Conference, on color management and the AIDO Conference, on standards from capture to image playback.
