Today I want to share with you a great experience that I had this weekend on an ecological walk to the Pericos River. As you know I love ecotourism and although I do not practice it as often as I would like, whenever I have the opportunity I go for a walk.
Today I am going to talk to you about the Los Pericos river, a marvel that is located between the Cali – Buenaventura road at the height of the municipality of Dagua where the spas of the jets are. A little further on from this site is the municipality of Córdoba where you go down to the San Cipriano River, which I already told you about on another occasion and which is also another natural wonder
Los pericos is one of the streams that go down to the road, however the great walk is to go up the river through the humid forest until you reach a series of wells and natural waterfalls that make the best pools you can imagine. In some cases the wells can be up to 4 meters deep or more according to my calculations.
You can imagine that the walk is somewhat complex because you are going in the middle of the jungle with a terrible percentage of humidity, a lot of heat and insects, but if you are well prepared, you will have a wonderful and incomparable time in one of the purest rivers you’ve ever seen, with crystal clear waters.
This wonderful place totally unspoiled and free from traditional mass tourism is only accessible if you get the advice of an expert guide. On this occasion I had the honor of being part of one of the expeditions of PicoLoro Ecoturismo, the company of Rene Alejandro, a great friend from the time of the university who today is dedicated to this with great success. By the way, he recently had a great expedition to Mount Aconcagua of which I hope to make another post soon commenting on his experiences, in short, if you are interested in ecotourism, you can contact Rene and make a great outing through the natural landscapes of Colombia.
Now I leave you with some of the images of the ride, I apologize for the quality of them, but I did not have a waterproof camera so I had to take great care not to get it wet.
