New MacBooks in August?

Taiwanese backlight manufacturer Kenmos Technology will begin shipping LED units for 13.3 and 15.4-inch notebooks during the month of July, as published on DigiTimes.

The information indicates that the company will ship between 10,000 and 15,000 backlight units initially, an amount that will rise to 100,000 units during the month of August.

Apple has already implemented LED screens in some of its MacBook Pro laptops, although it has not applied this technology in the rest of the Mac that incorporate a screen, such as the MacBook or the iMac.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has recently confirmed his company’s plans to offer more environmentally friendly solutions in its products, such as LED screens.
