The boxes are made of aluminum to facilitate heat dissipation and protect the internal mechanics. The manufacturer has also taken into account the design of the product to reduce the impact of the mechanics on small impacts.
The two available models are specifically designed to house mechanical SATA hard drives (SATA II and 1.0 / 1.a), offering USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and SATA II connections. Additionally, it includes a dual FireWire 800 port to allow more units to be daisy-chained.
System requirements are Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later, and a free USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800, or eSata port.
The 2.5-inch SATA drive model is priced at $ 70; while the price of the model that allows to install 3.5-inch drives is 85 EUR.
