Intego releases beta version of FileGuard X4

FileGuard X4 allows you to select the files and folders to protect, unlike Apple’s FileVault, which requires encrypting the entire directory that contains the folder or files. It allows creating as many “safe” elements as the user needs for different types of files, sending files to others, and storing files on servers or external hard drives, keeping the security options defined for them.

FileGuard X4 has drag and drop functionality and the ability to create new secure files from the Intego menu. Created safe places can be automatically increased in size as more files are added without the need to manually resize them. It also allows you to assign read and write allowances for “safe” sites on shared volumes.

The minimum FileGuard X4 requirements are Mac OS X v10.4 or higher, and 20MB of free hard disk space.
