the Honor View 20 or Honor V20 smartphone with on-screen camera was finally announced in China starting at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 31,000). The phone will also be announced for global markets on January 22 at an event in Paris. The Honor View 20 is arriving in three colors: red, blue, and black. It is very likely that the phone will also reach the Indian markets.
Let’s talk about the specifications. The View 20 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD + LCD screen with an unusually tall 19.25: 9 ratio. There is a small hole in the top right of the screen where the front camera is placed. Other than that, the phone appears to be bezel-less, save for a small chin on the bottom. The back of the device comes with a gradient change that changes color when viewed from different angles.
Powering the View 20 is the Kirin 980 chipset that was announced by Huawei in October and that the SoC is also found in Huawei’s latest flagship, Mate 20 Pro. Users will get three variants including either 6GB of RAM or 8GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. The Honor View 20, like all previous Honor phones, will run on the EMUI 9.0 skin and will be based on Android 9.0 Pie.
In the camera department, we see that the View 20 has a 48 MP (0.8 µm / pixel) Sony IMX586 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with a Quad-Bayer matrix that allows pixel blending. It is also attached by a 3D ToF sensor on the back. On the front, we see the on-screen camera that has a 25 MP fixed focus sensor.
The full configuration is backed by 4,000 mAh and comes with 22.5W SuperCharge support. Sales of the device will begin on December 28 in China.
