Now, the Mountain View giant has announced that starting April 18, the company’s smart speaker will begin supporting the free version of YT Music.
You can now play the ad-supported version of YouTube Music, although there is a slight caveat: you can’t request specific songs through the smart speaker. Obviously, there will also be commercials between the songs. The free versions of Spotify and Google Music are also compatible with the Google startup line.
If you want to set YouTube Music as your default music streaming service, go to the “Music” section in the “Settings” menu of the Google Home app. After that, you can select YouTube Music as your default music service.

In what was a surprise launch from Google, YouTube launched both YouTube Music and the company’s paid subscription service YouTube Premium in India in March.
