Fujitsu has developed a specific perpendicular write hard disk for use in laptops and video recorders, offering a maximum storage capacity of up to 300 GB which, in Fujitsu’s statements, represents the maximum capacity available in its segment to date .
The drive is 2.5 inches in size and employs a Serial ATA connection interface, offering a 50 percent capacity increase compared to previously available Fujitsu storage drives for these types of drives.
Although there are larger capacity drives, these are generally larger in size and also use slower interfaces. In the case of notebooks, the slower interfaces mean that they are not fast enough to handle digital video files.
Fujitsu has indicated that the new unit will be available at the end of February.
