Elgato EyeTV 250 Plus DVR

The EyeTV 250 has a coaxial antenna socket that can be used by an ATSC signal antenna or analog television or cable TV. It also has an included adapter cable that lets you connect the composite video (RCA) and S-video signal to it as well. This device is compatible with the ATSC standard for digital broadcasting of the TV signal that is carried out among other places in the United States.

The EyeTV 250 performs hardware MPEG-2 video encoding, stores the information on the Mac and is capable of exporting edit recordings thanks to the included editing tools. It also includes an application that allows you to schedule the recording of different television channels thanks to the use of a programming guide that is updated on the Internet and that greatly simplifies locating the TV programs that you want to watch or record.

Elgato includes a copy of Toast 8 Basic, a reduced-functionality version of Roxio’s CD / DVD burning tool, with which users can easily burn videos captured with EyeTV to DVD.

The minimum requirements for this device are G4 or higher processor (including Intel), 512 MB of RAM, USB 2.0 port and Mac OS X v10.4 or higher.
