Details on Palm’s new smartphone

The product is called Palm 500, it uses a standard version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system and operates over 3G mobile phone networks (third generation), and will be available through the operator Vodafone, which already had an exclusive agreement for the palm Treo 750v.

The Treo 500 appears to be geared toward the consumer market, equipped with the Windows Mobile 6 Standard operating system, which does not include support for the touchscreen feature. The absence of such a feature, and possibly others, could indicate that this new smartphone could be priced lower than the Palm Treo 750v which, priced at € 500, is aimed at the professional market.
