Call Timer the App to control your cell phone plan

Some time ago I wanted to write about this little App that for about 3 years that I started using it has evolved a lot, filling with very useful functions so that you can control every little aspect of your cell phone plan.

Call Timer

If your cell phone plan includes a limited number of minutes, a limited number of GB, a group of preferred numbers (also known as favorites or toll-free numbers) to which your operator allows you to speak for free the first few N minutes of each call, then this application is for you, as it allows you to control each of these aspects in an extremely detailed way, and then you will not have surprises when your bill arrives.

Control of favorite numbers

This is the function for which I installed this App a few years ago, since my cell phone plan includes the possibility of registering several favorite numbers to which it allows me to speak the first 5 minutes for free. Since I sometimes found myself with only a few minutes available on my plan, I couldn’t afford to spend those 5 minutes when I was talking to my favorite numbers, so I had to be careful not to pass me to hang up and dial again. But with Call Timer, this is over for me.

Select the favorite contacts of your plan, to which the duration of the call will be controlled

In the App you can indicate which are your favorite numbers and what is the time limit of the call. From there, when the time limit is close, Call Timer will notify you with a tone so you know that the App is going to hang up. After this, the App automatically hangs up the call and immediately redials, reconnecting the call in a few seconds if you have to do anything. This definitely saves me from paying my operator for additional minutes many times. Additionally you can use this function if you want to control when you have spoken more than X minutes with someone, in such a way that a warning sound is generated without hanging up the call.

You can configure in detail how you want the redial to be carried out (ex: 3 seconds after it hangs)

Control of your data plan

You can tell Call Timer the GB limit that your plan has and the cut-off date. From this the App will keep the statistics of your data consumption and when you reach your G limit it will inform you so that you can take action and not continue consuming.

Minutes and SMS control

As with the data, you can indicate to Call Timer the limit of minutes and text messages (SMS) that your plan has, and the App will keep a detailed statistics of the minutes and text messages that you have used within of your billing cycle, so that you are aware at all times of the minutes you have left and do not go overboard.

Automatic detection of operator and your plan

In Mexico and Colombia (for now) the App is capable of detecting the ID of the operator from which you are called or to which you are calling. This is especially useful in the case of Colombia with those people who have used number portability, that is, the number they have does not tell you which operator they belong to and the plan you have with your operator charges you a different rate if you call numbers of other operators.
