Apple Introduces iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store

With the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, music lovers can immediately enjoy their purchases through their iPod touch (or their iPhone for customers in the US, the only country where the iPhone is currently available) , without the need for computers. When you connect iPod touch or iPhone to your PC or Mac, downloaded music will automatically go to your iTunes library. If users have downloaded only part of a song or album to iPod touch or iPhone, the computer will complete the download automatically. Pricing and title selection in the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store are the same as in the iTunes Store.

Plus, iTunes Store customers can now create custom ringtones by selecting up to 30 seconds of music from over a million songs in the iTunes Store; ringtone syncs with iPhone easily and automatically. After purchasing one of the songs from the iTunes Store, including previously purchased songs, the customer will only have to pay 99 cents, choose a 30-second fragment of the song, convert it into a tone and synchronize it with their iPhone (only in the US). Customers can customize their tones by simply choosing the part of the song they want to use and selecting the start and end points.

Apple today also unveiled the new version of iTunes 7.4, the world’s most popular music and video organizing and enjoyment program that can now be downloaded for free from www.iTunes.com. iTunes 7.4 includes a larger viewing area for movies and TV shows. Another novelty is that you can also assign a score to both albums and themes separately.

The new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store will be available this month in all countries where the iTunes Store operates. ITunes custom ringtones for iPhone will be available throughout this month in the US. iTunes 7.4 is now available for free download at www.iTunes.com. Music purchased from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store is the same price as the iTunes Store. The tones can be purchased (for now in the US) for 99 cents for valid songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store.
