Apple introduces Appletv to unite iTunes with TV

Apple TV has a 40GB hard drive to store up to 50 hours of video, 9,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or a combination of these, and is capable of 720p high definition output. It can be connected to a wide variety of televisions and sound systems, and comes standard with HDMI connectors, component video, analog and digital sound connections. Using the AirPort 802.11 n high-speed wireless network, Apple TV can automatically sync content from a computer or stream content from up to five additional computers directly to the TV, without the need for cables.

Despite the great appeal of Appletv and the success of the sale of movies through the iTunes store, at the moment Apple only sells feature films and television series in the US (only a few short films are available in Europe), which limits the attractiveness of the device in our market.

Price and availability

Apple TV, which includes the Apple Remote control, will be available for sale in February, in the Apple Store on the Internet (www.apple.com) and at the points of sale of Apple’s distribution channel in Spain, at a recommended price of 289 EUR, VAT included.
