Telefónica sells the iPhone 3G to prepaid customers in Spain

As of next Wednesday, December 17, Telef√≥nica will begin to market Apple’s iPhone 3G to card customers – prepaid – at the more than 2,500 points of sale that today distribute the device to contract users.

The iPhone 3G will be available to card customers at a price of 549 EUR. For this price, users acquire the iPhone 3G with an internal memory capacity of 8 GB, and a prepaid SIM card that includes 12 euros of credit for voice calls and a promotional 4GB data voucher, which expires in 12 months. The data bonus, for customers who purchase the iPhone 3G after Christmas, will be 2 GB.

Telefónica customers who purchase the iPhone 3G in its card modality, will be able to decide once the data voucher has been consumed whether to continue with the same prepaid option, or go to the contract option, for which they will have a two-month free promotion 200 MB flat rate iPhone.
