The Reflecta ImageBox, which was introduced last July, is now being updated to make scanning negatives and slides easier by allowing automatic removal of dust and scratches. This feature is made possible by illumination of transparencies with infrared light, but is not available for opaque scanning.
Except for this update, the scanner maintains the same characteristics as the previous model, allowing it to scan 35mm transparencies at 1,800 dots per inch and opaque up to 10×15 cm at 400 dpi. The Reflecta Imagebox iR is delivered with negative holders in strips of six and slides framed in batches of four, and will be distributed by Rodolfo Biber SA for 149 EUR.
