Kerio MailServer supports iPhone ‘push’ technology

Starting at $ 499, Kerio MailServer provides unified access to email, calendars, and contact information, as well as protection against spam and malware. Kerio positions MailServer as an alternative to Microsoft Exchange, and that it can also work with Microsoft products such as Outlook and Entourage. Unlike Exchange, MailServer can run on a Mac equipped with a G4 processor or higher (including Intel-based Macs).

The “Push” capability is part of the iPhone 2.0 software. The new feature allows iPhones to be integrated into corporate environments using Microsoft Exchange or other software licensed by Microsoft’s ActiveSync technology to allow remote devices to update calendar, contact and email information.

Users can continue to use client software such as iCal and Calendar, if they prefer. In addition to supporting the iPhone, MailServer also supports other smart phones, such as those based on Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian operating systems, as well as BlackBerry terminals.
