Design and Display

At first glance you can see that between the two devices there is not much difference. Even when placed next to each other, you may see a similar design. However, they have swapped the rounded edge on the iPhone 11 Pro for a flat edge on the iPhone 12 Pro, and Ceramic Shield has been included, increasing resistance to drops or bumps. This is something that you can see in more detail on the official Apple website.

New technology has been added in the cameras section LiDAR, which allows shooting in Night mode, and improves autofocus performance in low light. The difference in dimensions is just a few millimeters, although the iPhone 12 Pro stands out for being slightly thinner. In weight the difference is one gram less in the new model, something almost negligible.

Equally, water resistance has been included in both iPhones. The only difference is the maximum depth, evolving to 6 meters in the new device. Each model is presented in four colors. The iPhone 11 Pro is available in midnight green, space gray, gold, and silver. While the iPhone 12 Pro in the colors pacific blue, graphite, gold and silver.

The screens are not very different either. Both have a Super Retina XDR display and OLED touch panel. The new model has three tenths of an inch more diagonally, being 6.1 ”. As for the iPhone 11 Pro, it is 5.8 ”. And in resolution and number of pixels they are not perceptible to the naked eye. However, the first works with 2532 x 1170 pixels at 460 ppi, and its predecessor has a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels at 458 ppi.

Cameras

In the cameras, no big differences are noticed either, mentioning a regular increase in the maximum aperture of the wide angle, and the presence of the new format of Apple ProRAW images. The characteristics of the rear camera array are similar, although the inclusion of the LiDAR scanner greatly improves shots with less lighting.

The front camera also has similar characteristics on the two models. However, Apple has added three very interesting features in the iPhone 12 Pro. We found the Dolby Vision, which improves the dynamic range. Night mode is also included, which allows us to take photos in low light conditions. And the Deep Fusion, which enhances the details of images for photos and videos.

performance

This is where we see the big difference. The new A14 Bionic processor It has a clock frequency of 2.99 GHz, against the 2.65 GHz of the A13 Bionic that the iPhone 11 Pro uses. The difference in speed is noticeable in all the processes and tasks you run on the iPhone 12 Pro. It really does that you enjoy using this device. As far as RAM is concerned, both work with 6GB.

When it comes to internal memory, there isn’t much of a difference worth mentioning. Two 256GB and 512GB models remain, while the 64GB device has been put aside to bring to the market a 128GB computer. Do not forget that the iPhone 12 Pro has 5G connectivity, a technology that has become a trend in the latest high-end equipment from different companies.

The battery of both models has almost the same autonomy. There is only a slight difference in duration when playing videos. In the case of the iPhone 12 Pro it has 17 hours, while the iPhone 11 Pro has 18 hours. One hour less for the new model, but for all other uses the autonomy is similar.

The iPhone 11 Pro uses an 18W adapter that is included in the box. The iPhone 12 Pro uses a 20W one that must be purchased separately. Both phones allow wireless charging, but the iPhone 11 Pro is only compatible with Qi chargers. ANDl iPhone 12 Pro supports MagSafe in addition to Qi.

The new model is capable of connecting to all global positioning networks. It allows you to make video calls in high definition, and also has a LiDAR scanner, which allows you to accurately measure distances.

Price: Which one do you decide for?

Something that has stood out in the output of iPhone 12 Pro is the similarity of prices with respect to its predecessor. As with the iPhone 11 Pro, its price ranges between 1000 euros and 1,400 euros. This highlights the fact that even though the modifications are minimal, it is worth switching to the new model.

The investment is almost similar, but with the inclusion of the LiDAR scanner and Dolby Vision for the front camera. You can encourage yourself to update your mobile phone, however you should not forget that headphones or the 20W charger are not included. You will have to make an extra expense to acquire these accessories.
