Toshiba people will also make themselves felt in Berlin, within the framework of the technology fair IFA 2014. And it is that sources from the Japanese leader reported that the meeting will serve as the stage for the launch of its new Canvio AeroMobile wireless SSD disk, equipped with a WiFi connection that allows the simultaneous transfer of data with up to eight devices, such as smartphones, laptops, tablets and PCs, among others.

Regarding the specifications of this terminal, which is configured as a central storage hub with 128 GB capacity -expandable through SD cards- it was known that it has a high-speed USB 3.0 port, a battery that offers eight hours of autonomy, weight of only 120 gr, dimensions of 63 mm x 123.2 mm x 12.5 mm and it is compatible with Windows 8.1, 8 and 7, Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8, iOS versions 5.1 to 7 and Android versions 2.3 to 4.1.

“Toshiba’s new wireless disk is completed with the Toshiba Wireless SSD app available for Android or iOS devices, which allows accessing, saving and playing files even when the user is on the move (…) and thanks to the Pass-Thru Mode it is possible to simultaneous access to the Internet ”, the informants explained, also emphasizing the unit’s lightweight and compact design.

For his part, Arnaud Bonvarlet, CEO of Toshiba Storage Peripherals Division, stated that given the multitude of possibilities that consumers currently have to capture and share the world around them, the ability to easily access, protect and save content is increasingly more important.

“The Canvio AeroMobile has been created to offer an extra degree of freedom in data storage and sharing with the added confidence that comes with knowing that all those precious memories are safeguarded with maximum security,” said the executive.

Before concluding, it is worth mentioning that the Canvio AeroMobile wireless SSD will be available -in light gold- from October, at a price of 149 euros. This unit really doesn’t look bad at all. True?
