According to a new report from Economic Daily News to which you have had access Macrumors, Apple would be thinking of investing in a new version of Touch ID in which this technology would be embedded under the screen.
This fingerprint scanner would be manufactured by the Taiwanese company GIS or would use ultrasonic sensors from Qualcomm. They are the same sensors that we already find in the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
There is no indication that this finger scanner will replace the current facial recognition system, but rather that it would be a complement. In this way, users can choose whether to unlock the screen with Touch ID or Face ID.
That said, it must be said that a similar rumor circulated about the launch of the iPhone 11 and that, if it does not appear on the iPhone 12, it is likely that the possible presence of a finger scanner on the iPhone 13 will be rumored again.
