Apple is believed to be planning the launch of the new AirPods early next year and with a completely new design. What’s more, the new AirPods 3 would combine the design of the AirPods Pro and AirPods 2.
What does that mean? Either they will have shorter “temples”, as in the Pro version, or they will have a new silicone earpiece. We think that the latter is quite unlikely, since surely the third generation does not come with noise cancellation.
This theory is also supported by Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who last June said that he expected the next generation of AirPods to have the same design as the AirPods Pro, but without active noise cancellation.
We won’t have to wait long for the AirPods 3 launch, as according to a report from DigiTimes (and which has been echoed MacRumors), the new generation will appear throughout the first half of 2021.
