In the third quarter of its fiscal year, which runs from April 1 to June 30, 2015, Siemens recorded revenues of 18,844 million euros, which represents an increase of 8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

“We look forward to maintaining this pace and closing fiscal 2015 with strong results in the last quarter,” stated Siemens President and CEO Joe Kaeser.

Orders in this period increased by 4%, reaching 19,858 million euros, with a book-to-bill ratio (which reflects the strength of the Group’s balance sheet) of 1.05. If the effect of the exchange rate is excluded, the figure decreased by 5%. Altogether, the group’s total business portfolio amounts to 110,000 million euros.

For its part, the net profit of the company reached 1,376 million euros, 1.6% lower than the same period of the previous year, although earnings per share rose from 1.62 to 1.65 euros.

By areas of activity, it is worth highlighting a significant order of 1,600 million euros in the Mobility business and the increase in orders in Healthcare, Energy Management, Digital Factory and Building Technologies.

The company expenses in the sales areas continue to increase and R&D as announced a few months ago, especially in the Power & Gas and Digital Factory divisions. During this quarter, Siemens has successfully completed a bond issue for the amount of 7.1 billion euros to finance the purchase of the American company Dresser Rand, whose integration has already become effective in the Power & Gas division.
