MacBooks from 2013 and 2014 will no longer be supported by Apple

From time to time, Apple makes a decision to stop supplying replacement parts for one or more older products. The main reason is surely due to the decrease in stocks, although it is also true that it seems a way of telling us that the time has come to buy a new model.

That time has come again, as the following devices have ended up on Apple’s “old and outdated” list.

  • MacBook Air (11in, Mid 2013)
  • MacBook Air (13in, Mid 2013)
  • MacBook Air (11in, Early 2014)
  • MacBook Air (13in, Early 2014)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2014)
  • iPod touch (5th generation)

This does not mean that the owners of these products have to throw them away, and some of them are still capable of running MacOS Catalina – they simply do not have official technical support from Apple.

However, replacement parts are still available from third-hand and second-hand markets, a full list of products that are no longer supported can be found at Apple support pages.
