To avoid any inconvenience with the use of drones in cities, Swiss Post works with SEAL, the organization of aviation regulators of that country.
These drones to transport laboratory samples are manufactured by the American company Matternet. They can support a face weight of up to 2 Kg at a maximum speed of 36 km / hour, infrared sensors for take off and landing; and contain a parachute for emergency situations.
At the moment it is not a regular service. Since mid-March, tests have been carried out between two hospitals in Lugano. 70 to be exact. While fine-tuning some details, drones to transport laboratory samples will be used recurringly in 2018.
