On the occasion of this event, Tim Cook has summoned Apple staff to a meeting on the Cupertino campus to honor the memory of Steve Jobs, communicating this act to the company’s employees by email.
This is the message that Tim Cook has addressed to the members of the company:
Like many of you, I have experienced the saddest days of my entire life and have shed many tears over the past week. But I have found comfort in the extraordinary number of tributes and condolences from people around the world who were touched by Steve and his genius. And I have found comfort in telling and listening to stories about Steve.
Although many of us have sad hearts, we are planning a celebration of his life so that Apple workers will take time to remember Steve’s incredible accomplishments in it and the many ways he made the world a better place. The celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m., outside the amphitheater on the Infinite Loop campus. We will release more data on Apple’s website as the day approaches, citing workers outside of Cupertino as well.
Hoping to see you there.
Everything indicates that it will be a private celebration, so it is very likely that the media will not be able to attend it, at least as the press. However, we will try to offer the information that is made public about this event as soon as we become aware of it.
