Apple kicks off its free summer activities for kids

Manzana wants bring programming and its applications closer to the little ones of the house and therefore has created some free camps and activities, for children from 8 to 12 years old, who want to learn to program, illustrate, play music and record movies.

The little ones have at their disposal a wide variety of sessions where they can participate in the ‘Today at Apple’ program, both in Camp and in the weekly sessions of Recess Time and Step by Step: Start Programming.

Summer camps

The camps, whose registrations are already available, will be organized during the July, and each one lasts 3 days in shifts of an hour and a half a day.

Among the activities that this year are incorporated into theApple camps, stand out:

Game and robot programming: Programming contents are expanded with Tynker and Sphero. With the new Sphero features, participants can make the Sphero robot the star of their project.

Creation of characters and composition of musical: New sessions oriented to drawing and music composition with the help of GarageBand.

Stories on the go with iMovie: With a wide variety of audiovisual creation activities with iMovie on the iPad.

Recess time: it enters within the new programming and will be taught in all Apple Store stores. Here children let their imagination and creativity run wild with fun and practical programming projects.

Step by Step: 15 new sessions that will be taught daily in the Apple Store, where topics such as programming, photography and video, music and art and design will be covered. One of the main novelties is ‘Step by step: Start programming’ where children will learn programming concepts and practice with the same code that professionals use every day.

Swift Playgrounds, learn on your own

It is a educational app for the iPad that teaches programming in an interactive and entertaining way, an activity that parents and children can develop.

The main device manufacturers have incorporated new and interesting lessons into the app Swift Playgrounds that allow kids to program and control popular gadgets like LEGO Mindstorms, the Sphero robot, Parrot drones and more through programs in Swift.
