As concerns about the coronavirus continue to grow, in many places, at work, they are encouraging people to work remotely to prevent further spread.
You have asked all of your employees in the United States and Canada to work from home for at least one month.
The new policy was announced in a memo to workers on Tuesday, and confirmed by a Google spokesperson to Business Insider. Those who can work remotely have been told to do so for an entire month, staying away from Google offices until at least April 10.
He recommended that employees in Europe work from home and issued advice to their international offices depending on the local situation.
Google has numerous offices around the world, yet some 100,000 of its workers are based in North America.
"Contributing to social distancing if possible helps the community at large to spread and, more importantly, it will help offset the maximum burdens through critical healthcare systems and also save it for people in need ( based on expert advice) ?, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai wrote Tuesday.
Please contribute if you can.
Not everyone is capable
Those who cannot work remotely will be able to go to the Google offices, which will remain open. In a blog post published on March 6, affected hourly service workers would be compensated for time they otherwise would have worked.
