SanDisk and Micron presented this Monday, within the framework of the MWC 2019 in Barcelona, the first two 1TB microSD cards in the world.
The SanDisk card (now a Western Digital company) takes the lead, achieving read speeds of up to 160MB / s, while the Micron card achieves speeds of 100MB / s. However, Micron's 1TB microSD card achieves superior write speeds: up to 95MB / s versus 90MB / s.
The arrival of these cards opens the possibilities to have cell phones with up to 2TB of storage. And it is that, for example, theIt has 1TB of internal storage and a microSD card slot which will allow you to double your storage.
Although Samsung has not announced the compatibility of the S10 with these cards, a simple software update would allow that and other cell phones to start using the microSD card with greater capacity.
SanDisk's 1TB microSD card will be available in April and is priced at $ 449.99, while Micron has said that it will arrive in the second quarter of this year, although it did not disclose its price.
