Here are the nominees for the 2018 Game Awards, Vote now!

The Game Awards has unveiled the full list of nominees for this year's show. Voting is open now, so head over to the game's voting page here and let your voice be heard! Check out the trailer accompanying the nominees as well.

The fifth annual Games Awards is closing and the committee finally revealed all the nominees and their respective categories. It is the largest lineup of nominees in the show's young history. In a series of 30 categories, this year's games compete for player votes.

The Game Awards is always a fun event as a hindsight of the year for games, but it also has a couple of surprises in the form of world premieres. Be it game announcements or new images. This year will not be different.

Without a doubt, the most important category is as usual Game of the Year. The nominees for this prestigious award are:

Game of the year

  • Assassin Creed Odyssey – Ubisoft Quebec / Ubisoft
  • Light blue – Matt makes games
  • God of War – SIE Santa Monica Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Spider-Man from Marvel – Insomniac Games / Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Monster Hunter: World – Capcom
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rockstar games

Yes, you are looking correct. Amid the AAA box office hit suspects is an indie game on Celeste. It's a good sign of how the independent scene has matured in recent years and has become home to fantastic games that don't have to hide behind the shadows of big traditional releases.

As part of the modern, interconnected world in which gamers live, Esports is playing a bigger role than ever, with 7 categories dedicated to them. In addition, the Trending Gamer award has been renamed to Content Creator of the Year. It's still about popularity on Twitch / YouTube. Here are the nominees for both:

Content creator of the year

  • Dr Lupo
  • Myth
  • Ninja
  • Pokimane
  • Willyrex

The best Esports game:

  • Counter Strike global offensive – Valve Corporation
  • dota 2 – Valve Corporation
  • Fortnite – Spike games
  • League of Legends – Riot games
  • Overwatch – Blizzard Entertainment

It should be noted that PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUGB) is not nominated for any category this year. On last year's show, not only was he nominated in 3 categories, but he also won Best Multiplayer Game. It seems that PUBG was unable to enter the Esport category. It is a direct competitor that Fortnite managed however.

The Game Awards 2018 will air live on December 6, and you can watch it for free on a variety of services. You can see all the viewing platforms here.
