Honor's first midrange with notch is real

Honor does not stop. It is removing devices left and right, and in many cases they are device reviews with little time on the market. So it is in the new case that we put you on the table with the Honor 9i, recently introduced in China. A phone that has the dubious achievement of being the first mid-range of the firm to have notch.

We say about reviews because looking at the hardware and the specs (and also the design), we're before an Honor 9 Lite in a renewed version. Everything must be said, and we do not know if this device will go from China to the western market.

A new Honor 9 Lite has arrived

Honor 9i: Honor's first midrange with notch is real

It was a matter of time before Honor repeated Huawei's move in repeating smartphones like candy. The Honor 9 had its variants like the Huawei P20 did, as was the Honor 9 Lite. In this case we return to the same with the Honor 9i, an "improved" version of the 9 Lite with some substantial changes. The first of all: the controversial notch.

We have a 5.84-inch panel in 19: 9 format due to the notch in IPS technology. In hardware we have the well-known Kirin 659, Huawei's flagship mid-range processor. Here is a problem, and that is that this processor is carried by all current mid-range phones from Honor and Huawei, and although it does not work badly, its power perhaps falls somewhat short.

We have a glass body with a fingerprint reader on the back and a 13 + 2 Mpx double camera, with an exact design to that of the Honor 9 Lite. As for storage, we are not bad; We have 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of expandable internal memory with micro-SD cards. All this powered by a 3000 mAh battery with fast charge.

We do not have USB-C or NFC, but we do have a 3.5 mm jack. The operating system version is as expected: Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2, a layer that we all know well. A mobile that enters the average as strictly as possible and which is one of the already extensive Honor catalog.

Prices and availability of the Honor 9i

It is not known if Honor is going to move this terminal through the international market, but it can be purchased today from China and India. However, its starting price is very juicy, and if it comes out in our country at a price not too high, it could be a real super sales:

  • Honor 9i with 4GB / 64GB: 1,399 yuan or 186 euros
  • Honor 9i with 4GB / 128GB: 1,699 yuan or 226 euros.
