another mobile gaming ms with 7.1 sound for games

Another mobile gaming rises to the fore to face his opponents, and this time comes from the hand of Honor with his Honor play, a phone with sudden differences compared to the low competition in this sector.

Not only do we talk about this Play having an improved GPU, but it also houses 7.1 sound for a better listening experience. Although, as we will see later, perhaps of all smartphones gaming on the market this is the most sober and least aggressive.

Honor Play Features

  • 6.3 ″ IPS 19: 9 Full HD + (2280 x 1080) screen
  • Kirin 970 processor with NPU for artificial intelligence
  • GPU
  • RAM memory: 4/6 GB
  • Internal memory: 64 GB with SD card
  • Dual rear camera: 16 + 2 Mpx
  • Front camera: 16 Mpx
  • Battery: 3750 mAh with fast charge
  • Android version: Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2
  • Others: Sound 7.1 Histe 3D for games, fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi …

An Honor 10 for gamers

This Honor Play, with respect to design and specifications, is nothing more than an Honor 10 vitaminized and adapted to the terrain gaming. The hardware does not leave it in doubt: Kirin 970 with NPU for artificial intelligence. Same top hardware of the Huawei Mate and Huawei P of this batch.

In addition, in the design we see a somewhat different variant than we have in the Honor 10 but with motifs gaming and in two colors, red and black. We have the same design as in the P20 and Honor 10 on the front, with a screen with notch in a panel 6.3 inches IPS Full HD +.

Usually, the GPU that is associated with the Kirin 970 is the Mali-G72. In this case we have a Turbo GPU, which is basically the same but with a overclocking for more gaming performance. This is the main difference with its commercial brothers, in addition to the one already mentioned Sound 7.1 Histe 3D. This translates to 60% more power and 30% less consumption, or at least those are the official figures.

Honor Play: another gaming phone plus 7.1 sound for games

In memory we are not short; We start with 4 GB of RAM and can go up to 6 and with a single version of 64 GB expandable with micro-SD cards. Perhaps we would have expected a version with more storage going up to 128, but the hardware of this Honor Play is beyond doubt.

All this is complemented by a double vitaminized camera with the 16 +2 Mpx NPU, with autofocus and LED flash. We doubt that we will get the same photographic experience as with the Honor 10 or its Huawei brothers, since smartphones gaming They do not usually make much use of the camera, but it does not go bad in numbers. The front camera is 16 Mpx.

Perhaps the only point that can be attributed to this device is that, as with many phones from the Huawei / Honor firm, many phones are identical to each other. And this Honor Play, as we say, is a modified Honor 10 for the gaming, without giving us the option to really choose a model with a processor variant.
