Some new content is on its way to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 very soon. While Treyarch was making fun of the patch notes for the latest game update, the developer is returning the favorite map of the Nuketown fans, and this week getting free for some players.
First presented in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, Nuketown has become one of the most iconic multiplayer maps in the series. It has been remade in each subsequent Black Ops game, each time with a different appearance and maintaining the same overall design. In Black Ops 4, Nuketown takes the form of a small Russian city in the middle of winter. You can check it out for the first time in the previous trailer.
Thanks to the timed exclusivity agreement of Activision with Sony, Nuketown first reach PS4 starting today, November 13, with a version for Xbox One and PC for the future. Treyarch has not announced exactly when to get the map to those two platforms, but this time, its PS4 exclusivity period is only seven days (instead of 30 as in the previous Call of Duty games), so players Xbox One and PC will probably have the opportunity to visit Nuketown again sometime next week.
Treyarch has much more free content planned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Next month, the developer will introduce the game to the first of several new specialized characters. Treyarch also plans to hold more seasonal, weekly and other limited-time events in the game, and Battle Royale-inspired Blackout mode is also scheduled to receive its own set of regular map updates, expansions and new modes.
Treyarch continues to adjust and improve Black Ops 4 with a regular stream of updates and patches. The last one focused on solving some persistent stability problems in Zombies mode and made some adjustments to Blackout and multiplayer. We also have our own ideas about how Blackout mode can improve in the future.
