Acer has presented today and by surprise its new 2 in 1 tablet with Windows 8.1. The announcement has been made in India, a country that continues to be the target of many firms given the potential increase in sales that is expected in the emerging market. The new model responds to the name of Acer One S1001 and inevitably reminds us of the old line of Aspire One laptops, although the Aspire last name has stayed on the road and the specifications have nothing to do with how you can check if you continue reading.
The first thing that this announcement leaves us is the possibility that Acer, like Huawei has done with the Ascend surname of its smartphones, can eliminate the surname Aspire of its next tablets as a way to indicate a change of third. It is something that we will surely confirm in future releases but that is posed as a possibility, since this strategy is often used to give an image of renewal within their products.
Although the products themselves seem "refried" from previous ones. We cannot avoid comparisons of this One S1001 tablet with the Aspire Switch 10, since both models share screen size (10 inches), support for detachable keyboard, possibility of placing the tablet in different positions, even with the keyboard pointing towards the back of the screen and the main design lines, quite similar. It is true that the rest of the specifications we find noticeable differences.
