After Samsung, its South Korean rival, LG, now insinates the launch of a foldable smart phone, the media reported.
The smart phone manufacturer has requested three trademark registrations: "Flex", "Foldi" and "Duplex" at the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO).
"The three applications are classified in Class 9 which includes smart phones, so it is a pretty safe bet that LG claims these names for any future device that makes, folding or otherwise." Engadget Inform last Friday.
However, it was not clear if the names were used for a smart phone or any other device.
"The first two, 'Flex' and 'Foldi', are fairly simple and synchronized with Samsung's Galaxy F and Huawei Flexi / Flex trademarks.
"On the other hand," dplex "is an interesting option of LG, especially if we consider that Google is using the word for its AI call creation function that has just begun to be distributed to users" PhoneArena inform
Samsung plans to launch its first foldable smart phone in March next year, along with a fifth generation Galaxy S10 (5G) that runs on a network.
The South Korean tech giant plans to present the Galaxy S10 smart phone in February, followed by the collapsible Galaxy F and another edition of the Galaxy S10 running on the 5G network in March.
