The Bitcoin futures trading platform of Intercontinental Exchange, Bakkt expressed interest in adding cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin, in a question and answer session on Twitter on Friday.
As Bakkt was repeatedly questioned by the community about the addition of other cryptocurrencies to its platform, Bakkt responded:
"We will consider additional contracts as the landscape evolves and when we receive additional comments from customers about what they want and need."
Comments on this post on Twitter were flooded mainly by XRP supporters. A well-known Twitter user between the XRP and Ripple community, Dr. T, tweets to poll and insinuate the XRP list, to which more than 6,300 people voted in agreement.
Another Twitter user Crypto Rand said:
"$ XRP, please, is the future of money. The standard, the revolution, a way of life. Thank you, sirs."
Justin Sun, the founder and CEO of Tron Foundation retweeted the Bakkt post, saying that TRX will be the best option if Bakkt ever decides to add more coins to its platform.
On Thursday, Misha Lederman, for Tron enthusiasts, tweets a copy of the letter sent to Bakkt from the Tron community in response to his tweet. The letter justifies that Tron is considered by including the next asset in Bakkt.
Although Bakkt's tweet about the addition of assets other than Bitcoin has stimulated the crypto community, it is not expected to happen soon, as Bakkt recently postponed the launch date of Bitcoin futures from December 12 to 24 January 2019.
Bakkt CEO Kelly Loeffler explained that the delay is due to rigorous testing and retesting. She said:
"With product launches, there are new processes, risks and mitigators to test and retest, and in the case of crypto, a new asset class to which these resources apply. Therefore, it makes sense to adjust our line of time as you work with the industry to launch. "
