New distribution robot based on aerospace technology

A new European startup wants to completely change home delivery. Starship Technologies, founded by two of the creators of Skype, replace the dealers with a robot with wheels.

While companies like Amazon believe it is feasible to have a small army of drones to deliver purchases that do not exceed one kilogram,Estonia Starship Technologies believes that it is more reliable and easy to start a service that does not travel through the air, but for the asphalt, with small automated robots.

The functional prototype that the company has shown to the world It looks quite like the rover that NASA sends to Mars. The idea is similar: a small automated vehicle that can go from point A to point B without help, only without leaving planet Earth.

This small nine-wheel delivery robot, has nine low resolution cameras, GPS, several sensors and is connected to the Internet. Thanks to these technologies, you can take a package from the store to our house, but without traveling long distances. According to the creators, it is the small orders that end up being delayed due to the routes that the courier companies trace.
