For a few years, the technology business seemed to revolve around smartphones almost exclusively, leaving aside products that a few decades earlier monopolized all eyes. Computers, for example, were relegated to a second and even third level in the strategic plans of many companies, and the arrival of tablets made many imagine the worst.
But it has become clear that the laptops are not going to disappear, at least, not so soon, and companies that made a name in the phone market also began to manufacture them. Huawei, for example, that put its attractive MateBookX on the international market, and now its subsidiary Honor has taken a similar step, taking advantage of the good reputation it enjoys in several countries especially in Russia and has launched its new MagicBook laptops worldwide 14 and MagicBook 15, which, like the phones, are aimed at young people with a limited budget.

Both laptops look identical apart from size and weight. Mystic Silver and Spacial Gray color options are offered with an edge of the screen lid and the Honor logo have a blue tint that is both attractive and elegant. Its aluminum chassis feels expensive, and not only that: they are machines that feel solid, not like some economic models of renowned brands, which seem to scream Cheap plastic! by its four sides.
Both work with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics. That comes with 8 GB of RAM and the option of a 256 GB or 512 GB SSD. The selection of ports includes USB Type-C, a pair of USB Type-A, HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, the latter, something that many will never fail to thank. Like the Huawei MateBook, each MagicBook has a fingerprint sensor on the power button and a pop-up webcam configured between the F6 and F7 keys. Windows 10 is the default operating system, and is included in the package.

The 14-inch MagicBook has a 16: 9 Full HD screen with a 84% screen-to-body ratio. Its chassis is 15.9 mm thick and weighs 1.38 kg. The 15-inch model is a bit more robust: it marks on the 1.53 kg scale and is 16.9 mm thick, although its 15.6-inch screen has a greater relationship, in this case 87%. The aspect ratio and resolution remain the same.
The battery of each laptop is replenished with a 65 W charger included, which provides approximately 10 hours of use on a single charge.
We were told in the presentation that the price of both laptops (8GB RAM and 256GB of storage) starts at 599 euros, about $ 650 dollars at the current exchange rate. We obviously assume that paying this minimum will take the 14-inch one, and they did not inform us at what price the 15-inch laptop starts, but it should not be much more. Ah: they will be on sale in some European countries at the end of March.
