Facebook notifications for Android are updated and increase your customization

Whenever Android jumps version we look at each of the new features that the new variant includes. The point is that many of them are functions of new APIs that applications must adopt through updates.

One of the most striking of Android 8 Oreo was the inclusion of notification channels. From that version of Android applications could not only send notifications, but they would do it by categories.

In this way, users could control whether they wanted them to arrive from one type but not another. For example, in a Twitter client we could choose notifications of direct messages, but not mentions.

One year after the launch of Android 8 Oreo and with Android 9 Pie already on the market the Facebook application for Android is updated with this function.

Facebook for Android is updated with notification channels

There are several users who are warning that the latest update of the Facebook application for Android is beginning to include notification channels. However it seems that it is not shown in all cases, perhaps because of some tests that Facebook is doing.

When it arrives it will allow those who use this application to have a very thorough control of the notifications that the app sends you to the phone. There is 18 different categories that we can activate or deactivate individually.

Personally I am in favor of having the minimum notifications activated and in this case I think it would directly mark the option that the app would not send me any but if you see some important now you can select them.

To use them you have to use Android 8 or higher and have the Facebook version for Android If they still do not appear you should clear the app cache and data if necessary.
