MediaTek Helio P95 is official with slight improvements in AI and graphics

MediaTek has announced by surprise a new chipset in its catalog: the Helio P95. This is the most recent member of the series Helio P mid-range company.


The Helio P95 is a 8-core chipset which is made up of an arrangement of 2x cores Cortex-A75 (clock speed of 2.2GHz) and an array of 6x Cortex-A55 cores (clock speed of 2.0GHz). It has a GPU Imagination PowerVR GM 94446, which offers a 10% improvement in performance compared to the last generation. The processor supports up to 8 GB of RAM in LPDDR4X format (1866 MHz) and UFS storage 2.1.With respect to the screens, it is able to support resolutions up to 2520 x 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21: 9.


This new model includes improvements to enhance the photographic section on the devices that mount it. admits 64MP sensors or Dual cameras of 24MP + 16MP. The processor has a Triple ISP with RAW processing from 14 bits and 10 bit YUV. It also has AI powered enhancements, such as low-light AI-NR photography, tracking of human poses, identification of multiple objects and scenes, and an AI-powered depth engine.

AI and gaming engine

The Helio P95 also comes with the AI ÔÇőÔÇőAPU 2.0 engine (AI processing unit). According to the company, it achieves a 10% increase in performance of reference in comparison with the last generation. MediaTek says this makes it one of the most powerful AI engines available for 4G smart phones.

MediaTek HyperEngine brings improvements in the games to offer a faster and more fluid experience in its range.


Moving on to the connectivity section, the new Mediatek Helio P95 supports 4G LTE Cat. 12 for download speeds, LTE cat. 13 for charging speeds, 4 x 4 MIMO, 256 QAM, ViLTE, VoLTE, Dual 4G VoLTE Dual SIM, Band 71, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Availability of the Mediatek Helio P95

So far no manufacturer has announced whether to be the first to launch a phone with the new chipset. MediaTek has not revealed When should we expect to see it in future mid-range devices?. It seems a bit surprising that the company has updated one of its P series processors, which was thought to be discontinued in favor of the new G series, which also has options for both medium-high range and standard mid-range.
