Many have tried, but only a handful has succeeded. And these are the most popular Spanish channels on YouTube, the successful social video network that turns 15 this month.
Since its creation 15 years ago, YouTube has accumulated more than 31 million channels and has become one of the most used social networks in Spanish-speaking countries, according to figures from The Global State of Digital. But one of its peculiarities is that precisely they are the youtubers and not the traditional media that dominate this space.
Although the channels with the largest number of subscribers in Spanish are still far from the 123 million followers that the Indian T-Series network has, several of them have managed to place themselves within the 50 most popular of all the world. Here are the most successful content creators in Spanish, according to the number of followers.
Badabun, Mexico (42.4 million subscribers)
In 2019 it became the most popular Latin channel on YouTube, displacing Hi I am German Y elrubiusOMG, which for several years dominated this social network.
