If you are using a new desktop computer or with a couple of years of use, you can update it with almost any DDR4 memory kit (we can even teach you how to do it), but choosing the best RAM for PC can mean better performance, lighting prettier or greater savings. After reviewing many configurations, building and updating many computers, we have some suggestions for RAM, starting with a Corsair Vengeance RGB unit, our favorite. Check out the full list below!

And beware, that buying RAM in 2020 is today a real pleasure compared to previous years, where prices were astronomically inflated by the insane supply and demand that those struggling to always keep up to date. But today things have changed. With abundant actions and prices in almost historical minimums, now is an excellent time to update your memory.

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro LED 16GB 3,200MHz

The best RAM in general

Why should you buy it?: Corsair RGB Pro Vengeance is prettier than its LPX counterpart, but still has fantastic performance at an excellent price.

Who is it for ?: For those who want a combination of style and substance of their memory.

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro LED memory kits are a perfect midpoint between its most visually impressive Platinum line and the most discreet LPX range. Like those kits, it offers fantastic performance and there are many options to choose from. For us, the option of 16GB (2 x 8GB), 3,200MHz is the optimal point, as it offers impressive bandwidth and reasonably adjusted times for high performance and low latency memory that is ideal for gaming and productivity tasks .

It also has a competitive price, even in the recently accessible world of improved global memory supply. It is not necessary to break the bank to buy these updates, but there are also many options where you can spend more if our particular choice is not what you are looking for. If you want more bandwidth for games (AMD Ryzen processors can particularly benefit from faster memory), then the Vengeance RGB range goes up to 3,600MHz. Each kit supports XMP 2.0 profiles for a overclocking easy, but you can usually upload them more manually if you know what you are doing.

All are compatible with Corsair's iCUE software as well, for detailed RGB control. The Pro model updates the LEDs for softer lighting, adds optimization for the newest main cards and, most notably, a new aluminum heat diffuser to help manage temperatures a little better inside your PC.

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 2,666MHz

The best high capacity RAM

Why should you buy it?: If you need large amounts of memory that does not skimp on quality, the Vengeance LPX kits are perfect.

Who is it for?: those who need power and capacity over anything else.

The Corgeir Vengeance LPX range is the most underrated of its Vengeance line, and it shows in its most competitive price. Abandoning the LEDs of its more elegant brothers, the LPX range offers the same high performance and high capacity of other Corsair memory kits, and there is a wide range of options. You can buy direct kits of up to 192 GB for several thousand dollars, but for that you will need a monstrous CPU like the Intel Xeon W-3175x.

Given that only a few people can afford such a system and even fewer have workloads that can take advantage of it, we opted for the 32GB LPX kit at a reasonable speed of 2,666MHz. Why 32 GB and not the option of 64 GB? Because they are two 16 GB and at least for now, two of the smaller kits are cheaper than buying one of the largest.

G. Skill TridentZ RGB 16GB 3,200MHz

The best RAM for games

the best RAM for PCs illuminated with led

Why should you buy it?: It is fast, with decently tight times and an attractive, but discreet, look at an excellent price.

Who is it for?: players or anyone who wants a performance without premium LED.

G. Skill manufactures excellent memory products and its TridentZ line covers the entire range, from the beautiful Royal range inlaid with jewels to the most optimized game series. If you do not need RGB lighting and your computer has the space to carry them, the modules in the 16GB kit at 3,200MHz are some of the best there are. They are fast, with reasonably adjusted times, and XMP 2.0 profiles support overclocking Fast and easy on Intel and AMD computers. Aluminum heatsinks complete a design that combines functionality and style.

If you want higher performance, you can buy faster kits with tighter times, but this particular kit offers excellent value for money and leaves an extra budget to buy other important components, such as a large graphics card. While RGB LEDs look great on this unit, you can choose a non-RGB version to reduce the price a bit.
