2020 vs 2019, a real fight of titans where everyone has something to say
Two of these four phones (S20 Ultra and Mi 10 Pro) have just come out of the oven, and start with a bit of advantage over the two of 2019. However, these last (Mate 30 Pro 5G and 7T Pro) do not stay short in nothing, and will fight in a comparison where any detail count to outdo the rest.
The four mobiles of this comparison are the maximum exponents of performance, features and other of these manufacturers. This, from now on, predicts a rather complicated and closed battle. What will we talk about? Gross performance, photographic capabilities, screen, design, autonomous, and even price.
On the screen the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has the word, but the OnePlus 7T Pro whispers in your ear.
Samsung has always paid special attention to the screens of their phones, always offering interesting news that differentiate it from the rest. This time has not been different, but we believe they have offered more than in previous opportunities.
Why do we say this? Because all members of the S20 family equip screens Quad HD + with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, thanks to the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. These are features that are not entirely new, but seeing them together, and also in mobiles that are not specifically for the gaming market, is strange.
However, the OnePlus 7T Pro is not far behind absolutely. It also equips a screen with Quad HD + resolution, although through a Fluid AMOLED panel, with a little less pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. What is the advantage over the S20 Ultra? There is no camera on the screen and you can enjoy the latter in its entirety. We dare to say that there is a technical tie.
We do not forget the rest, the podium is completed by the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with a Super AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and update speed of 90Hz, which is not small, but it seems to be out of the Premium range standards of 2020. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G repeats the Full HD +, but its panel does not stand out in anything else.
Design, each mobile of this comparison is for different profiles
By the end of 2019, the premium mobile launches pointed towards a sober design with which to bet on the solid colors in pastel colors. By 2020 this seems to remain the way, and the litmus colored backs of 2018 and 2019 will begin to fit for the mid-high or lower range.
With the Samsung S20 Ultra plays very similar to Apple in question of design, betting on having the rear cameras in a corner, on a fairly large island. In addition, it offers only two colors, gray and black, which give the S20 Ultra a very executive look.
The Mate 30 Pro 5G is perhaps the most risky of these four devices, betting on a rear with a circular island to locate the four cameras, and a range of colors that runs through green, purple and even orange. It could be said that it is the choice for the most outgoing.
The Mi 10 Pro and 7T Pro maintain continuous lines with respect to previous mobiles. The Xiaomi points to a public quite similar to Samsung, although perhaps more relaxed. Meanwhile, the OnePlus is pretty good if you are someone who navigates between being outgoing and introverting at some point. All have front and rear glass, in addition to aluminum frames, so this is not decisive.
The performance race is tough, but the S20 Ultra takes it, with the Mi 10 Pro on its heels
All the phones on this list are sufficient for any task that is required of them, and we are sure that they will give war at least two or three years without anything taking their toll. That said, we remember that we are in a comparison, and it is necessary to deepen a little more, but you know the above.
Samsung and Xiaomi are on par with performance if we only compare the processors, since both equip the fabulous Snapdragon 865 that has given so much to talk about (the S20 Ultra is also available with Exynos 990). But, the pulse ends up winning the South Korean manufacturer because it offers a version with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, while Xiaomi repeats this last, but it stays in 12 GB of RAM.
For its part, The OnePlus is powered by an SD855 +, which seizes the interior of the best phones of 2019, and yet is extremely solvent, also offers up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Similar case happens with the Kirin 990 5G of the Mate 30 Pro 5G, the most powerful chip of Huawei currently, which still has a lot to say, but it is left with just 8GB of RAM.
The cameras Not even in a war of gods is the battle so fierce
This comparison has been complicated, but at this point, everything else seems easy. The cameras of these four phones are excellent in every way, but you have to honor the truth in something, the OnePlus 7T Pro is delayed with respect to others.
Until just a few days ago, the cudruple camera of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G had the absolute crown of DxOmark, being surpassed only by the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G and for just one point! We cannot say that there is a notable difference in photographic performance, and they still have to try the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The Huawei has a configuration of 40 MP + 8 MP + 40 MP + 3D ToF Sensor in the rear, as well as another 3D ToF sensor in front, and a 32 MP camera. By itself, and without delving into details, this configuration is positioned incredibly well, but in addition the magic of Huawei post-processing works wonders.
In the case of new king of DxOmark, the Mi 10 Pro 5G, we found the almighty Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor that gave so much talk about the Mi Note 10. With it in command, the rear configuration is 108 MP + 8 MP + 12 MP + 20 MP What led him to the throne? According to DxOmark itself, significant improvements in textures, night mode and border quality. The front camera for selfies stays at 20 MP.
Finally, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is the mobile that in numbers should be the best, but one thing is paper and another is reality, so we'll know when DxOmark does its thing. Its rear cameras come in a configuration of 108 MP + 48 MP + 12 MP + 0.3 MP (3D ToF sensor) and promise amazing performance. The front camera is going to an impressive 40 MP.
The autonomous also gives a closed battle, but the S20 Ultra is ahead by very little
Turning to the final brushstrokes of this comparison we arrive at the battery and autonomous of these mobiles. The OnePlus 7T Pro is again the easiest of all, since it equips a 4080 mAh battery that sounds little for the range in which we move, although its fast charge of 30W is quite decent.
A little higher, and very close to the first two, is the 4500 mAh battery of Mate 30 Pro 5G, which also equips a great 40W fast charge, 27W wireless charge and reverse charge. With the same storage capacity we find the Mi 10 Pro, but the fast load goes up to incredible 50W, and the wireless up to 30W, with a reverse load of 10W. Crazy in every way.
Why don't you win the S20 Ultra? Because although the latter has a fast load of 45W, wireless 15W, and 9W reversing, it compensates all that with a battery of 5000 mAh, the largest of the four mobiles. We believe that it is better for the battery to last longer, so that the load is only slightly better.
And then which of these mobile top of 2020 range is the best?
We must confess that we feel a special love for Xiaomi due to that incredible price / quality ratio, and that's why we give him the crown between these four phones.
But that is if we take the price into account. Because if money is no problem, and performance is the only thing that matters to you, in that case we will choose the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. That screen, its cameras, battery and others are incredible in every way. At this time we do not know a mobile that can go from t in every aspect against the Galaxy, even with its price.
A little further down is the OnePlus 7T Pro, which costs less than 800 euros today, is an incredible purchase. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G is also a sublime mobile, but its price does not help at all (a 2019 mobile of more than 1000 euros).
And you What do you think of this verdict? Do you agree? Will you change any of these phones? Leave us your comments below.
