If there is a day of the year in which we knew we were going to have a lot of news about Xiaomi, it was today, July 9. The reason is that it is the day that the company has gone public in Hong Kong, although not in the way the founders would have wanted.
Along with that we have echoed the new leaks that give us data of the future Xiaomi Mi A2 a terminal that is increasingly talked about and that is very likely to see the light in Spain on July 25.
But this was expected, quite the opposite of the news that comes from a new high-end mobile designed for India. A Xiaomi mobile with a different brand.
Pocophone, a new brand of Xiaomi
According to the data leaked a few days ago, Xiaomi would have registered PocoPhone as a mobile brand and would be developing the first one to be a very relevant terminal.
I would use the Snapdragon 845 as a processor, the same as we have seen in the Black Shark, Xiaomi Mi 8 or Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S.
This device will have 4000 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor (but not on screen) and would have a double rear camera, one of whose sensors would be a telephoto. All this points to a kind of variant of the Xiaomi Mi 8 but with improved autonomy.
In addition, the data extracted from the firmware of this model indicates that the new terminal would be designed for India, which does not mean that we will not see it in other countries. Do not forget that the Xiaomi Mi A1 was presented in that country and then it was a best seller worldwide.
A second Xiaomi brand?
But if there is something more striking than its specifications is its name. Xiaomi would have registered the brand POCOPHONE to launch this terminal and at the moment there are not many more details. It could be a second brand such as Honor for Huawei or Realme for OPPO.
