Quin has never played Tetris, either on the iPhone or on other devices. However, today we get bad news, EA, the current owner of the rights of the game, will stop supporting the three Tetris apps you have in the App Store: Tetris Premium, Tetris 2011 and Tetris Blitz.
The news was revealed by a user of MacRumors and the decision seems firm, as of April 21, the three EA Tetris applications will be removed from the App Store and it will no longer be possible to play, as the official note that the company has left implies.
Adis al Tetris
We do not know exactly what has happened, if the rights to the classic game have ended and another company has been made with them or if EA simply does not want to continue developing its Tetris games, but what is clear is that there are only 3 months left to enjoy these games.
The note you see here can be read in each of the Tetris games of the App Store and says as:
It has been an adventure, but unfortunately the time has come to say goodbye. As of April 21, 2020, the EA Tetris application will be withdrawn and no longer available to play. You can continue enjoying the game and using all existing objects in the game until April 21, 2020.
We hope that you had lots of fun with this game and we want to thank you for your support. Thank you!
Tetris has been a basic iOS game since the launch of the iPhone and EA has offered several updates for its Tetris applications over the years, however the applications had not received an update since summer 2018. Hopefully it will be a see you later.
Since there are still 3 months left, take advantage and enjoy any of the Tetris games from the App Store on your iPhone:
