One of the main Instagram bets on June 20, 2018 was the launch of a new vertical video platform, more than 60 seconds long that they named IGTV.
With drums and cymbals, the social network of photographs that belongs to Facebook announced its investment in multimedia content designed exclusively for mobile phones.
And although several artists, influencers, sportsmen and public figures from all over the world tried the invention, I never caught a lot of people, probably because the Stories button is more alive than ever and concentrating the majority interest.
For this reason, and as the TechCrunch site advanced, Instagram decided to remove the IGTV button from its home screen. The cone that is in the upper right corner of the news feed and that shows a television set, start coming out slowly in the next updates.
“Most people find IGTV content through previews in Feed, the IGTV channel in Explore, creator profiles and independent application. Mand few are clicking on the IGTV icon in the upper right corner of the home page screen in the Instagram application, ”commented a spokesperson for the application in TechCrunch.
This does not mean that IGTV disappears completely from Instagram, since it can continue to be occupied, and also the option to download the app independently.
The connoisseurs believe that the strong emergence of TikTok in the United States and the rest of the world and the low expectations that IGTV would ever equate its power of content creation with that of YouTube, ended up reducing the income of the experiment that someday announced as the revolution of video on mobile platforms.
The difference in being able to sponsor content, especially in comparison to normal news feed and stories stories, will have also triggered the decision.
